Partry House
estate lies on the limestone and marl shores of Lough Carra.
Built for the Lynch family in 1667, the house stands on a
rise overlooking the bright waters of "Fionnloch Ceara", renowned
in history and legend. Parkland surrounding Partry House sweeps
down to the lake, and the landscape changes from low hazelwood
to mixed woodland, from bog to pasture, from forestry to the
broad expanse of the gentle lake waters.
Partry House estate
is privately owned and has been extensively restored. It is
farmed organically, and is a game sanctuary. Because of its
age and history, the property has been designated of historic
importance to the district, and is open to the public for
a limited period often in the summer months. Open dates may
vary seasonally; appointments appreciated. Groups also by
arrangement; please enquire.
The East
Wing of the house overlooks the lake and gardens, and
is now available to rent, for private self-catering guests.
The Gate Lodge
offers commanding view over its pastoral setting and Lough
Carra, and is also available to rent. Summer rentals are weekly.
Off-season rentals min 3 nights. Rates on request.
